Whats a decent price I should expect to pay for a decent used .38/.357? Dont wanna pay to much but its time I got one already!

On todays market a decent price for a double action is around 350-400.
There are so many variables....manufaturere, barrel length, saftey features (not needed on a wheel gun).
I would suggest a 4 inch barrel, adjustable sights. Either taurus, and they can have heavy trigger pulls or smith & wesson...stay away from single actions.

A decent used S&W model 66 or GP 100 will run you between 350 (Ruger) and 450 (Smith). Don't buy a 38. Focus on the 357.

My first .357 handgun was way back in 1982. I bought a six inch Ruger Security Six in stainless for something like $225. That was the new price back then. I personally prefer the Security Six to the GP-100. And you might be able to find a used one for a better price.

I also prefer the S&W 19 to the L frames like the 586 and 686. The M19 is just such a sleek and perfectly sized gun.

For strictly range use, it is hard to beat an N frame S&W. The M27 is the top of the line. The M28 is more utilitarian but just as good a shooter. I have several of each.

If you do model searches for each of those on gunbroker, you should be able to find a good deal.

I just purchased a really nice used Taurus .357 6 shot 4" barrel for my wife. It matches her other one. Though the other one is comped and this one is not. But she will be able to pick it up and immediately use it, for it is a duplicate otherwise to the Taurus she's owned for at least 12 years.

I paid $325. Plus s&h ($14) and NCIS processing ($39). So call it less than $400. And it's about 98% finish. I've been looking for more than 12 years. I missed one about four years ago, as it went over $450. The model number is 669 and my wife just loves them. And is flat deadly with them. So it was a win/win as far as I was concerned. Yeah, SHE filled out the NCIS paperwork. I just have been searching forever and then paid the bill when I FINALLY found the right one.

No NCIS for me...Im illegal as hell ,I cant even get my friends to pick me one up, but there are folks who dont know me as well Im working with.Thanks for the tips!

I dont post pics on forums NOR do I ever BRAG about anything! Ive done "my time" and many here agree I should be considered "Free" now...dont snub your nose at me for something Ive dealt with in my past!
